A letter from the designer
A wedding gown is more than a dress; it is a form of expression through the art of fashion that should reflect your unique identity and become one of the most meaningful pieces you will ever wear. With EVERLASTING, my Fall/Winter 2027 bridal collection, I wanted to explore that connection between a woman’s story and the gown she chooses to become part of it.
Inspired by Charlotte Brontë’s Victorian novel Jane Eyre, an 1800’s love story, this collection explores the story of a woman whose strength and resilience carry her through adversity toward enduring love (I recommend to watch the movie, specially the 1990’s version). What moved me most was Jane’s determination and resilience. Her independence, her convictions, and her capacity to love became the starting point for these sixteen designs.
As I developed EVERLASTING, I thought about how to express those qualities through fabric and construction. I wanted the gowns to feel romantic, with a structure that gives each silhouette its character. Defined bodices, inner corsetry, and carefully placed seams create a foundation for lace, sculptural skirts, and softer details.
The silhouettes of the late nineteenth century informed my exploration of dropped and basque waists, elongated lines, and neckline proportions. I reimagined these references for the women I design for today, balancing a sense of history with clean, contemporary shapes. Each gown needed to feel timeless while offering something individual.
Throughout the collection, an ivory palette brings together the distinct textures of an Edwardian inspired lace that reminds me of a church I visited in my last trip to Rome (San Luigi dei Francesi), romantic classic beaded chantilly lace, mikado, Italian satin, rose-motif jacquard and floral elements in different dimensions. I chose these materials for the way they hold a shape, catch the light, or reveal a detail as the wearer moves. Feminine slim bows, handmade silk organza flowers, and considered draping bring moments of softness to the collection’s architectural construction.
For me, the beauty of a gown depends as much on its interior as its exterior. The structure beneath the fabric shapes how a dress fits and how a woman feels wearing it. I give those unseen details the same attention as a neckline or the placement of a flower. They are essential to the experience of the gown.
While creating EVERLASTING, I kept returning to a personal commitment: to remain loyal to my own style and to approach every design with the care I would expect if I were choosing it for myself. I wanted every piece to earn its place in the collection through its proportions, its craftsmanship, and the feeling it evokes.
My hope is that a bride discovers something of herself in these designs. Perhaps it is the confidence of a structured bodice, the romance of lace, or the simplicity of a beautifully cut skirt. That recognition is what makes choosing a wedding gown so personal.
EVERLASTING is my interpretation of enduring love, shaped by a story of strength, patience, and conviction. It is also an invitation to the woman who wears it to carry her own story forward.
With love,
Guillermo Pharis
