Designer profile
Guillermo Pharis is a bridal fashion designer based in New York City and Denver.
Born into a multicultural household and raised in a family of strong women, Guillermo was inspired from an early age to create womenswear. At just nine years old, he began sketching wedding dresses, a passion sparked after watching a Christian Dior couture show that forever changed his path.
Throughout middle and high school, he continued to dream, design, and refine his vision, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong commitment to bridal artistry.

He attended the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, where he specialized in eveningwear and bridal design. With deep knowledge of couture dressmaking techniques, Guillermo is able to analyze and execute the refined craftsmanship essential to bridal couture. A true romantic at heart, his love for dresses began in childhood and continues to inspire every collection.
His work is a creative blend of personal experience and rich inspiration drawn from art, architecture, sculpture, music, travel, and culture. Each gown reflects his refined aesthetic, emotional intuition, and commitment to modern elegance.
Guillermo is also deeply passionate about the environment. He incorporates sustainable practices into both his personal and professional life, sourcing only the materials he needs, minimizing waste, reducing energy usage, upcycling leftover fabrics, and designing new gowns from vintage pieces or antique dresses. His eco-conscious mindset is a core part of his design philosophy.
In 2019, Guillermo launched WHISPER by GUILLERMO PHARIS, a bridal brand now available in the U.S. and Asia. That October, he debuted his first collection at New York Bridal Fashion Week and opened his first bridal studio in TriBeCa, NYC. Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, he went on to present collections at Shanghai Fashion Week and in Hong Kong in 2020 and 2021. That same year, he opened a boutique in Downtown Denver.
Growing one bride at a time, the brand expanded further in May 2024 with the opening of his first Bridal Design Studio in Los Angeles, California.
Guillermo’s work has been featured in major publications including BRIDES.com, Los Angeles Times, New York Post, New York Weekly, Insider, US Reporter, and numerous regional and international outlets.
